Audi A5 Coupé Edition One [59 Second Review]

Strikingly classy and dynamic with state-of-art technology – one of the best infotainment systems out there! Impressive, sporty elegance. In a different class... What’s not to love!

The Audi A5 Coupe is strikingly classy and dynamic, offering smooth driving performance and state-of-art technology built in. With many similarities underneath the body to the extremely successful Audi A4, the A5 is sportier in looks and comes with one the best infotainment systems out there.

We took the Audi A5 Coupe Edition 145 TFSI S Tronic, in lovely Turbo Blue, for a test drive to check it out - watch the video above for a quick overview or read our review in full below to learn more.

Exterior

Design-wise, the A5 coupe has a distinct and sleek appearance. Depending on the model you choose, you could be looking at either a black or silver intricately crafted honeycomb grill at the front. The model we reviewed also features dynamic front and rear LED lights and 20 inch polygon alloys.

There’s no doubt that it’s a fantastic looking car, with sleek ventilation slits decorating the hood grill of the car, referencing the unforgettable 1946 Audi Sports Quatro. The sharp, chiselled creases running down the bonnet give it a unique and aggressive appearance, as does the low-lying contour sweeping along the flanks.

It’s sharp, stylish and sure to turn heads as you drive past, so what’s not to love about the exterior design of the Audi A5?

Interior Design

Moving to the interior, you'll find Audi's ergonomic, automatic transmission interface. The glossy dashboard gives a premium feel, complemented by the virtual cockpit which is equally impressive to look at.

There’s plenty of space for those in the front; the driver’s seat is extremely comfortable and both the seat and steering wheel are conveniently adjustable. Space is a little tighter for those sitting in the back, though this won’t come as a surprise with it being a coupe.

We recommend upgrading to the full leather seats, tying them with the leather steering wheel.

All from a single 10-inch touchscreen tablet, resting above the dashboard, you can control your:

  • Heating
  • GPS (with 3D mapping)
  • Ventilation
  • Climate Control
  • Driver Assist
  • Playlists
  • Calls
  • Messaging
  • Apps

In-car Entertainment

Additionally, you can purchase a HD rear-view camera and access 360 degree parking sensors.

Premium trims are available with extra features too, such as the 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit display and SiriusXM radio.

While there isn’t a huge amount of room in the boot, the rear seats fold down automatically should you need more space for carrying extra luggage. It’s no SUV, but this car is more practical than some might have imagined.

Performance

When it comes to specifications and performance, the Audi A5 definitely packs a punch!

The model we looked at boasts 265 brake horsepower, but thanks to electro-mechanical power steering adjusting the steering ratio and power precisely based on your speed, you'll remain in full control!

Overall, the car handles really well, balancing a fun driving experience with comfort and practicality. It’s powerful but it feels safe to drive, thanks to automatic emergency braking and cruise control which comes as standard. There’s also the option to upgrade to more advanced driver assistance systems, depending on the specs that you choose.
