Ever taken a black cab in London? Driven a Volvo? Then you've already met Geely.
The name might be new on UK roads, but the company behind it owns some of the most familiar badges around. And now Geely is here under its own name, and it's joined the Motorfinity line-up.
That's good news for eligible frontline workers, who can now secure a brand-new Geely at a discounted price.

Who is Geely?
Geely is new to UK showrooms. It isn't new to UK roads.
The Geely group owns, or holds big stakes in, Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Smart and LEVC. That last one builds the plug-in hybrid black cabs you'll see all over London.
So, while the badge might be unfamiliar, the engineering behind it has been on British driveways for years.
The Geely brand itself arrived in the UK in late 2025 with the all-electric EX5. The Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid followed in early 2026, and the compact EX2 landed in August. And it's not stopping there. Geely plans to bring around ten new models to the UK within three years, with the Monjaro SUV next in line.
Every Geely sold in the UK is either fully electric or a plug-in hybrid. And there's a British touch too. Engineers from Lotus have fine-tuned the ride and handling to suit our roads. Potholes and all.

We offer discounted prices on three brand-new Geely models to eligible frontline workers: the EX2, the EX5 and the Starray EM-i. We hope to add more as Geely's UK range grows.
Here's our take on each one.
Geely EX2
The EX2 is a compact electric car - think Renault 5 and Ford Puma Gen-E.
It's also rear-wheel drive, which is unusual at this size and price.
Kit is generous from the start. Every EX2 gets LED headlights, keyless entry and start, faux-leather trim, electrically adjustable front seats, sat-nav, a rear-view camera and adaptive cruise control.
There are two batteries to choose from:
| Feature | EX2 Pro | EX2 Max & Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 35kWh | 47kWh |
| Range (WLTP) | Up to 155 miles | Up to 214 miles |
| Motor | 60kW (81bhp) | 85kW (114bhp) |
| Drive | Rear-wheel drive | Rear-wheel drive |
For the school run, a shift pattern across town or a daily commute, the Pro has plenty of range. If you cover more miles, the Max and Ultra are the ones to go for.

The EX5 is Geely's all-electric family SUV - think Skoda Elroq and Ford Explorer.
Space is where it shines. Legroom in the back is excellent, and there are 33 storage spots dotted around the cabin, including a pull-out drawer under the middle rear seat.
The boot holds 410 litres, plus a 51-litre well under the floor for your charging cables. Fold the rear seats and that grows to 1,877 litres.
Up front, the passenger seat reclines almost flat. Handy for a power nap while you charge!
The numbers:
| Feature | Output |
|---|---|
| Battery | 60.2kWh |
| Range (WLTP) | Up to 267 miles |
| Power | 215bhp |
| 0-62mph | Just under 7 seconds |
| DC rapid charge | 30-80% in around 20 minutes |
| Home/AC charging | 11kW |
| Vehicle-to-load | Yes - power devices from the car |
That vehicle-to-load feature means you can run a laptop, a camping kettle or an e-bike charger straight from the car.
The EX5 comes in three trims: SE, Pro and Max.

The Starray EM-i is a plug-in hybrid family SUV - think Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai Tucson .
It's the one to look at if you're not quite ready to go fully electric. Every Starray uses Geely's Super Hybrid system: a 1.5-litre petrol engine working with an electric motor to drive the front wheels. Most of the time, it drives like an EV. Smooth, quiet and with instant pull.
And the electric range is seriously impressive:
| Feature | Pro & Max | Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 18.4kWh | 29.8kWh |
| Electric-only range (WLTP) | Up to 51 miles | Up to 84 miles |
| Combined range | Up to 585 miles | Up to 618 miles |
| Combined power | 258bhp | 258bhp |
| Boot space | 528 litres (2,065 seats folded) | 528 litres (2,065 seats folded) |
For most people, most days, that means no petrol at all. Commute, school gates, supermarket, home. Plug in overnight and repeat. Then you've got over 600 miles of combined range when it's time for a long trip.
It's practical too. There's a 528-litre boot and a flat rear floor, so the middle passenger isn't fighting for foot space.
